Dear Rain,
I have such a love/hate relationship with you. My husband and I have some beautiful landscaping that longs for you to come around. But, my only tip would be to come around between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Anytime before or after that is inconvenient for me and most of my friends and colleagues.
In fact, back in May, we had a Bark in the Park night scheduled, and you stopped us. There were only a couple of wet dogs that night, but we weren’t able to set up a table and spread the good news of the SPCA because you kept interrupting…
So, on August 14, I am asking you to only come around before 4 p.m. We are going to give Bark in the Park another shot, and we’ve got some great things planned. Please don’t rain on our parade.
I’m sure I will see you soon and continue my love/hate relationship with you, rain.
- Rachel

Rachel, you really know how to grab my attention! : ) Now, if everyone in Lakeland, or Polk County for that matter, all at the same time, continued to sing non-stop til then: “Rain, rain, go away, come again another day”… maybe that would help. (I have my fingers and toes crossed anyway). See you there!
